THIS IS ICON: LFW 26

THIS IS ICON

If you’ve seen my work before, you’ll probably know who I am. If you’re new here, welcome. I’m Darrick D. Neptune, a Creative Director working across the performing arts and media. I create content for artists, brands and companies, with a particular interest in photography, fashion, arts and culture.

I attended This Is Icon as both a photographer and creative, capturing the evening from my perspective and documenting the people, fashion and moments that caught my eye.

This isn’t intended to be a traditional fashion review. Rather than tell you what a designer intended or analyse every garment, I want to show you what I saw through my lens - the collections, the characters and the moments that made the evening memorable.

And what an evening it was.

This Is Icon brought together fashion, awards and live entertainment for a star-studded night featuring appearances from Kelly Osbourne, Colin Salmon and Tee Green. The evening eventually moved beyond the runway, closing with a live auction, where a painting sold for almost £45,000.

But at the heart of the evening, were the designers.

Each collection brought its own identity, craft and personality to the runway. Rather than ranking them, I’ll let the photography tell that story.

Below is my photographic record of the designers and some of the moments I captured throughout the night.

This is an ongoing feature, so as I discover more about the designers, collections, and stories behind the evening, I’ll continue to build on it.

Welcome to This Is Icon - Through my scope

BTS - Photography

Editing the behind the scene was really challenging, even completing it was really over whelming for me. I didnt know the Director personally but I've seen and admired his work and heard great things about him from the dance industry.

I was hired to follow the Choreographers and Dancers mainly. I'm not part of the production team but I know how important BTS can be, so i did well to capture what i can while remaining partially discreet. Whether I was supposed to be there or not. I believe God put me there for a reason unbeknownst to me.

But, to know it won't be seen by the right eye, was hard to take. I questioned myself... all the work I've done over the years, will it be forgotten or remembered ?

I dont know, it's not for me to say. The only i can do is keep on creating and hope to inspire the next and that's the reality of it. We are here for short while so i encouraged all creatives to start your journey. You dont have to be ready, just start.

My condolences to the Team and Family of Luke Biggins . 🙏🏽🖤🙏🏽
